![]() The only downside is not being able to use the UAD plugins inside Ableton, but at least I get the plugins on the way in. I had even planned on getting the Thunderbolt card but it doesn't seem to be necessary. I kept assuming something wasn't right and I must not have muted the Console monitoring as I was expecting at least some noticeable latency but it never made itself obvious. So I ran the inputs into Ableton and muted the Console and there is no discernible latency. I was adamant that I had to monitor through console for the lowest latency but the lack of midi started to become a problem. I was in for a very pleasant surprise last week when we ran the inputs of the the Apollo into it. In saying that it is very stable and I do trust it. ![]() Everything is laid out diagonally which is counterintuitive for me. I am using Ableton instead and I do not get along with that program. But lack of midi and the ability to automate is quite a setback. This setup is also our idea recording setup when we we rehearse without drums, then either with Studio One or Logic. Template dialog, which appears the first time you open MainStage and when you create or. You can choose a concert template in the Choose. I have occasionally put the API on the virtual channel 1 for the keyboard too. MainStage includes templates for different musical instruments, including Keyboards, Guitar Rigs, Drums, Vocals, and more. The twin DSP is used to route both the bass player and the guitar through amp sims (Bass amp and Chandler) and the API preamp sim. If I turn off the effects in MainStage and run at 128 Samples it goes to around 3-4 ms out, I might be able to use less but Pianoteq is pretty heavy on cpu. Latency is okay, though somewhat less good than you would expect with Thunderbolt (as has been discussed on the forum). My use case for the Twin and MainStage combination is this: I play a small jazz and funk band where I play keyboard through the MBP (Pianoteq and Lounge Lizard) for which I have setups in MainStage. Unfortunately I did not use previous versions of MainStage so it's hard to comment. If you only use presets it works pretty well. ![]() There seem to be a few good ways to crash both logic and MainStage in the current version usually involving changing plugin settings during playback. ![]()
