![]() I asked them to share words of encouragement and some “yay” with y’all that can hopefully linger into the near year. ![]() So I reached out to some NCMPR members who claim positivity in their top five strengths. I’m a cheerleader (fewer poms, more flannels, but you get it), and I like to collect fellow cheerleaders. 11 (I know why, but that’s another topic), but it’s still a trait I value and ID as a strength. When I took this test years ago, Positivity was one of my top five strengths. One of the 36 strengths highlighted by the test is positivity. I’m a member of this year’s Leadership Institute cohort, which uses the CliftonStrengths assessment. This is all simply to say: You’re doing a spectacular job. And, oof, is it rough when our academic peers don’t recognize that. In the scheme of it all, our work makes people’s lives better. Frankly, it blows.īut we keep it up because what we do has consequence. We’re staying in the office til 6 and 7 p.m., and by the time we get home, we’re wiped out. There’s joy in and a need to commiserate with our peers, share our successes and remind ourselves that we’re doing a spectacular job. It makes me reflect on something District 1 Director Jodi Neal said at a board meeting earlier this year: Our members need, and deserve, cheerleading, and we should be providing a pat on the back. It would also be nice to have more support at the top instead of just getting blamed for things!” Consider this finding from a member who filled out the survey: “…There is an unrealistic amount of pressure placed on us and we’re not always included in the conversation so we’re a bit limited in how we can make a difference. Admin and faculty don’t always understand what marketing does or invite them to participate in the important stuff. ![]() When NCMPR conducted Data Dig 2022 – basically an eval on steroids – one of the biggest takeaways for me was how much our members feel misunderstood at their colleges. No one has a better pulse on what’s important to membership than actual members, and we pull much of our programming from those suggestions. And others love the part where we ask about what topics you want to see covered in the future. Some care about what didn’t – they want to know how we can do better next time. Some care about what worked – they want to know we’re giving members what they need. We get a lot of good information from those surveys, and each NCMPR staff member tends to pay special note to different aspects of those results. If you’ve attended any event we’ve hosted, you know this. After each NCMPR conference – national and district – and after each webinar, NCMPR sends attendees an evaluation survey. ![]() ![]() ![]() The suggestions that follow will help you create effective PowerPoint presentations. ![]() ![]() So God explains for several pages why this is so: First, he says, evil doesn’t exist. Walsch, however, still has doubts about a statement God made in Book 1, about Hitler being in heaven. God suggests that Walsch say “I love sex” ten times a day, to overcome any lingering sexual guilt. Pages are devoted to the pleasures of masturbation, gay sex, and “kinky sex” and God recommends the Hindu/Buddhist Tantric methods for achieving spiritual energy through sex. (God is a panentheistic God we all exist as members of His/Her marvelous body, although we may have a nagging sense of separation.)Ī major catalyst for development in this “spirituality” is sex. The author claims that these books were written during some difficult times he experienced during the 1990s he started to write down questions or comments for God, and thoughts would pop into his head. Starting with Book 2 is not really a problem, since God/Walsch summarizes points from Book 1 at various places. In any event, the experience was eye-opening about what large numbers of people are now reading about God. Perhaps he hoped this would expand my knowledge of the “subject matter,” or give me some clues about how to write a New York Times best-seller. You just add a '/./' in front of your desired mount path and Mac OS X will even accept the Volumes folder. However, if you try to directly mount into this folder, autofs will fail. This is the default folder for all mounted shares on a mac. Normally Mac OS X tries to mount network shares into the '/Volumes' folder. To be sure it isn't just that XFCE doesn't mount digital camera type devices, I tested it with an actual digital camera that plugs in via USB. What is different here? Is it possible to get XFCE to auto-mount them? I thought XFCE uses GVFS like GNOME does? This is Fedora 12, by the way, with XFCE 4.6. No auto-mounting is done in XFCE, no auto-run dialogs, nothing. If you need a copy now, keep an eye out for the Mystery Boosterfoil printing, which can be found for somewhere between $25 and $30, even as the non-foil Champions of Kamigawa printing is currently $50+.įinally, we just got the full spoiler for Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Commander precons, which are likely to have a big impact on prices as players assemble decks around the new legends and upgrade their precons. Shizo, Death's Storehouse will likely follow the same pattern. It seems likely that Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep will stabilize somewhere around $30 a far cry from $65, but still way more than its $10 price tag from a couple of weeks ago. As copies are relisted, vendors are incentivized to undercut their competitors' prices to sell their copies, which causes prices to fall. This is normal when a card is bought out. On the other hand, last week's hot Ragavan land - Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep - is trending back down, losing 16% this week to fall back under $40 after briefly peaking at $65. Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer has been one of the biggest influences of late, with Shizo, Death's Storehouse jumping 72% to $55 this week as a way to make sure the Monkey can keep attacking even through a board full of blockers. Meanwhile Modern is still adjusting to the presence of Modern Horizons 2 cards. Once the set officially releases in a week or two and people start cracking boxes, prices are going to drop and drop a lot. As such, rather than splurging on $42 copies of Tiamat or $20 Circle of Dreams Druid during presales, a bit of patience will save you a lot of money. For unlimited supply Standard sets, the expected value always drops down near or below the cost of a box (for example, the current EV of Strixhaven is $96 for a draft booster and $89 for a set booster), which means cards from Adventures in the Forgotten Realms need to lose roughly half of their value (on average) over the next month or so. The expected value calculation is up on the prices page (minus collector boosters which will be coming soon once we add in the Commander Precon cards that were just previewed) and the biggest takeaway is that the set is currently massively overpriced with the expected value of a draft booster box coming in at $208 and a set booster box at $305. A total of 160 consecutive patients were enrolled. The present observational single-center review consists of consecutive patients hospitalized with COVID-19-related infection in a tertiary hospital and prospective follow-up until discharge. The current study aims to evaluate the impact of new-onset AF compared with pre-existing AF and sinus rhythm on long-term mortality, stroke, and bleeding in COVID patients. The balance between embolic and bleeding risk in these patients is challenging. ![]() On the other hand, coagulopathy is a common abnormality in patients with COVID-19 disease and these patients seem to have a higher risk of developing thromboembolic events. The management of AF regarding the use of antithrombotic therapies in the setting of COVID-19 disease, in clinical practice, does not differ from the routine management. The outcomes in patients with new-onset AF, pre-existing AF, and sinus rhythm remain unclear in patients with COVID-19.Ītrial fibrillation is a common cause of stroke, hospitalization and death, whereas anticoagulation therapy for the prevention of stroke can trigger bleeding events. Several previous studies have demonstrated that new onset atrial arrhythmias are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The onset of AF may be related to electrolyte abnormalities, dehydration and hypoxia. The prevalence of AF in COVID-19 patients is substantial when combining both pre-existing and newonset AF. The most common arrhythmia overall in patients with COVID-19 is sinus tachycardia, but the most frequent pathologic arrhythmias include AF, atrial flutter and monomorphic or polymorphic ventricular tachycardia. In 138 patients from Wuhan who were hospitalized with COVID-19-related infection, arrhythmias were reported in 17% of the general cohort and in 44% of the patients admitted to an intensive care unit. The presence of palpitations has been reported as one of the most common initial symptom of the disease (7.3%). AF is the most common pathologic of arrhythmia, and its incidence is increased in the presence of an infection. As with any infection, there can be an increase of stress on the body from which arrhythmias can arise. There is a lack of information about the incidence and the consequences of arrhythmias related to the virus. The disease can trigger exacerbated inflammatory responses that can be challenging for patients with heart conditions. Furthermore, patients with pre-existing health conditions such as obesity, pulmonary disease, hypertension and heart failure are at higher risk for a more severe infection by SARS-CoV-2. Affected patients have been reported to have an inflammatory state that may predispose patients to in-hospital cardiovascular complications, such as myocardial damage, atrial fibrillation (AF), and stroke. This study showed an unprecedented detrimental effect of COVID-19 vaccines on atrial fibrillation and warrants the need to take that into consideration when prescribing COVID-19 vaccines.Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a viral respiratory illness caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has caused a pandemic which is overwhelming health care systems worldwide. Conclusion: While vaccines have not been linked to heart rhythm disorders, the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines in 2020 showed a significant association with atrial fibrillation. Of note, deaths were predominantly within the 50-year-old and above age group. Interestingly, influenza vaccines, polyvalent polysaccharide pneumococcal (PPSV23) vaccine, pneumococcal 13-valent (PCV13) vaccine, zoster vaccine, and tetanus-containing vaccines were significantly associated with reduced atrial fibrillation. Among these events, atrial fibrillation was reported 2149 times in association with various vaccines. Results: Over 1,300,000 adverse events were reported between 1990-2021. Disproportionality signal analysis was conducted by measuring reporting odds ratio (ROR) with 95% confidence interval (CI). Methods: We used the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) between 1990-2021 to search for atrial fibrillation and other less prevalent arrhythmias. However, vaccines have not been well-studied regarding their effects on heart rhythm disorders. ABSTRACT Background: Vaccines have been mainly described to provide cardioprotective effects with rare reports showing rare association with myopericarditis. ![]() |
